Bsharp runs big behind Champion Indian Blessing
RSS Feeds Saturday, January 03, 2009
Bsharpsonata put in a big effort in the last Grade 1 race of 2008 at Santa Anita on December 27th. The race was the La Brea Stakes for 3 year old fillies on the main track. She lost her jockey Gomez to injury after a nasty spill but new pilot Bejarano gave her a good ride to be only 1 1/2 lengths behind Champion Indian Blessing at the wire. She rallied well from off the pace but left herself a little too much to do. This is her second Grade 1 placing after a big run earlier this year to be second in the Ashland Stakes at Keeneland. She has won six stakes races in total including a pair of Grade 2 wins at Gulfstream this Spring on the dirt track. She boasts stakes wins on dirt and turf and has been placed in two Grade 1's on synthetic surfaces.

2009 has started well for Cloverleaf racing with a win on January 3rd for Second Glance at Laurel and a good second on January 3rd for Pride of Alke at Charles Town. Thanks to the Pletcher and Salzman team for doing such a nice job with these horses.
